More than a restaurant

Restaurant Acasă is a Romanian restaurant in the heart of Leytonstone, East London. Under new management since 2026, the kitchen has gone back to the classics - sarmale, ciorbă de burtă, mici, tochitură, papanași - cooked from fresh ingredients each day and served in the generous portions a Romanian table is meant to have.

The name means "home", and that is the feeling we are after. A warm room, an unhurried welcome, chargrilled plates and rich sharing platters, and the tastes that take you straight back to a Sunday at your grandmother's table.

The room is built for long lunches and late parties. There is a full bar, tables that seat a large group without breaking it up, and a section that can be set apart for a private party. White linen, fresh flowers and blue-and-white walls keep it smart without losing the warmth.

It is also more than a restaurant. Acasă is where the Romanian community in London gathers to celebrate - weddings, christenings, name-day parties and kids' parties for up to 80 guests - and where curious Londoners try sarmale, ciorbă de burtă and papanași for the first time.

We believe a good celebration is about more than a good menu. It is the people you love around one table, a warm atmosphere and moments that stay with you. That is why we put our heart into every detail and make sure every guest feels welcome.

Come for a quiet weekday lunch or a table of twenty on a Saturday night. For weekends and larger groups it is worth calling ahead, but plenty of our regulars simply walk in. You will hear Romanian and English across the room in equal measure, and both are welcome at the door.
